The salmon, quinoa, and broccoli meal is a recipe of great nutritional value, designed for adult dogs that need a good intake of essential fatty acids. Quinoa is a gluten-free pseudocereal, rich in essential amino acids, perfect for varying the carbohydrate base.
Ingredients
- 220 g of fresh salmon fillet, skinless
- 120 g of quinoa
- 180 g of broccoli florets
- 80 g of carrots
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of extra virgin olive oil
- 300 ml of water
Method
- Rinse the quinoa well under running water to remove the bitter saponin.
- Cook the quinoa in 300 ml of water for about 15 minutes, until it has absorbed all the liquid.
- Carefully check that the salmon is free of bones, even small ones, then steam it for 10 minutes.
- Wash the broccoli florets and carrots, cut everything into small pieces, and steam for 8 minutes.
- Flake the salmon with a fork, checking it again for bones.
- In a large bowl, combine quinoa, salmon, broccoli, and carrots. Add the EVO oil, mix, and allow to cool slightly.
Notes
Salmon is one of the best natural sources of omega-3 (EPA and DHA), which contribute to the health of the coat, skin, and joints. Quinoa provides complete plant-based proteins and fiber, while broccoli is rich in antioxidants. Offer this meal once or twice a week to supplement the protein value of the regular diet. Always check carefully for the absence of bones.
Storage
In the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 days. It can be frozen in single portions for up to 1 month.
