Oven-Baked Beef Jerky for Dogs with One Ingredient

Oven-baked beef jerky for dogs: one ingredient, no dehydrator. Thin strips of lean meat for a 100 percent natural protein snack.

Time ~190 min
Portions 50

Chewy, protein-rich snacks made with just one ingredient: meat. This beef jerky is prepared directly in the oven, without the need for a dehydrator, and serves as a natural alternative to industrial snacks. Ideal as a reward for training or as a reinforcing treat.

Ingredients

  • 454 g of lean beef (cut such as round, round steak, or loin)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 95 degrees.
  2. Slice the beef into thin strips about 6 mm thick. For a cleaner cut, place it in the freezer for 30 minutes beforehand.
  3. Arrange the strips on a baking rack placed over a baking sheet, spaced apart.
  4. Bake for 3-3.5 hours, until the strips are completely dry but still slightly flexible.
  5. Allow to cool completely, then serve to your dog.

Notes

Choose lean cuts: fat does not dehydrate well and tends to spoil more quickly. The strips are ready when they are dry but not brittle: if they remain moist in the center, continue baking. Serve 1-2 strips per day depending on the size of the dog. The jerky is a snack, not a substitute for a balanced meal.

Storage

In an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
