The baked frittata with egg and ricotta is a protein-rich food supplement designed for growing puppies. Baking at a moderate temperature results in a soft texture without any browned parts, perfect for their still delicate teeth.
Ingredients
- 2 medium eggs
- 100 g of fresh cow's ricotta
- 80 g of zucchini
- 30 g of carrots
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 160 °C.
- Wash the zucchini and carrots, then grate them with a fine grater.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs with the ricotta until you achieve a smooth mixture.
- Add the grated vegetables and the EVO oil, and mix carefully.
- Pour the mixture into a small baking dish lined with parchment paper (about 15 cm in diameter), ensuring the layer is about 1.5 cm thick.
- Bake for 22-25 minutes, until the surface is dry but still soft to the touch.
- Allow to cool and cut into small squares before serving.
Notes
The whole egg is considered one of the foods with the highest biological value. Ricotta provides calcium and phosphorus, essential for growing bones and teeth. This frittata should be offered as a supplement to the main meal, not as a substitute, and in small quantities (a maximum of 1-2 squares per meal). Always check for tolerance to dairy products.
Storage
In the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days. It can be frozen in portions for up to 1 month.
