Frozen chicken liver cubes for dog meals: a simple trick to portion and enrich every recipe with valuable nutrients that are quick to use.

Time ~35 min
Portions 12

Adding liver to your dog's homemade recipes has never been easier. With these frozen cubes, you always have the perfect dose of nutrients on hand: simply take one or two cubes out of the freezer and add them to the food when the recipe calls for it. A simple, quick, and balanced solution.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of chicken livers (about 450-500 g)
  • about 240 ml of water to fill the molds

Procedure

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees.
  2. Arrange the livers evenly on a baking tray.
  3. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, until fully cooked.
  4. Allow to cool slightly, then transfer the livers to a blender or food processor.
  5. Blend until smooth and pour the mixture into ice cube molds.
  6. Add a little water to the molds to fill them and freeze for a few hours, until solid.
  7. Once frozen, remove the cubes and store them in an airtight container in the freezer, ready to add to your favorite recipes.

Notes

Liver is very rich in nutrients: it should make up about 5 percent of your dog's total diet. You can also use beef liver, while pork and lamb liver, which are fattier, should be offered in small amounts. A medium cube (about 10 g) is sufficient as a supplement in many recipes.

Storage

In an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.
