Baked pumpkin cubes are a single-ingredient snack, naturally sweet and light. Slow cooking concentrates the flavors and makes the pumpkin soft and fragrant, without the need for any add-ins. Perfect for those looking for a healthy and low-calorie treat.
Ingredients
- 500 g of cleaned pumpkin (Delica or Mantovana variety)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of extra virgin olive oil
Procedure
- Preheat the oven to 170 °C.
- Clean the pumpkin by removing the skin and seeds, then cut it into regular cubes of about 2 cm.
- Place the cubes in a bowl, drizzle with the EVO oil, and mix so that they are lightly coated.
- Transfer the cubes to a baking tray lined with parchment paper, spreading them out in a single layer.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, turning the cubes halfway through, until they are tender on the inside and slightly caramelized on the outside.
- Allow to cool completely before serving.
Notes
Pumpkin is one of the best vegetables for dogs: low in calories, rich in soluble fibers, beta-carotene, and potassium. It helps regulate bowel movements, both in cases of constipation and overly soft stools. It is an excellent alternative to packaged snacks, particularly suitable for overweight dogs. Serve at room temperature.
Storage
In an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. It can be frozen in portions for up to 2 months.
