Lean meat, leafy greens, sweet potato, and oats combine in a simple and nutritious preparation that you can slice and freeze to have ready meals for the whole week.
Ingredients
- 454 g of ground beef
- 2 eggs (about 225 g)
- 50 g of chopped spinach
- 124 g of grated sweet potato
- 27 g of ground sunflower seeds
- 25 g of oat flakes
- 2 tablespoons of essential nutrient mix for dogs (about 25 g)
Whole food version (alternative to the nutrient mix):
- 8.4 g of hulled hemp seeds
- 5.2 g of dehydrated beef liver powder
- 6 g of egg shell powder
- 3 g of nutritional yeast
- 0.5 g of kelp powder
Procedure
- Preheat the oven to 175 degrees.
- Prepare the ingredients: chop the spinach, grate the sweet potato, and grind the sunflower seeds.
- In a large bowl, combine beef, eggs, spinach, sweet potato, oats, sunflower seeds, and nutrient mix.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan lined with parchment paper, or form a meatloaf on a baking sheet.
- Cook for about 40 minutes, until fully cooked through.
- Allow to cool before slicing and dividing into portions suitable for your dog's size.
Notes
Formulated for the maintenance of adult dogs. Yield: about 928 g, 1500 calories. If your dog doesn’t tolerate eggs, you can substitute them with unsweetened applesauce or mashed banana as a binder. You can replace the oats with more sweet potato for a grain-free version.

In the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for up to 60 days in single-serving portions.
