Cold Chicken, Pepper and Kefir Salad for Dogs

Cold salad for dogs featuring diced chicken, red pepper, celery, hemp seeds, and kefir. A fresh and nutritious recipe with plant-based omega 3.

Time ~35 min
Portions 5

A canine version of the classic cold chicken salad, designed for those who like to vary their dog’s diet with something tasty and nutritious. Chicken, red bell pepper, crunchy celery, and hemp seeds combine with the creaminess of kefir for a light dish, perfect as a meal or spread on a lick mat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cooked chicken breast
  • half a red bell pepper
  • 3 celery stalks
  • 1 teaspoon of hulled hemp seeds (5 g)
  • 60 ml of unsweetened natural kefir
  • 2 squirts of vegetable omega oil (about 10 ml)

Instructions

  1. Cut the cooked chicken into small cubes.
  2. Finely chop the red bell pepper and celery.
  3. In a bowl, combine the chicken, bell pepper, and celery, mixing well.
  4. Add the kefir and mix until it evenly coats the ingredients.
  5. Transfer to the lick mat or a bowl, then sprinkle with hemp seeds and finish with the vegetable omega oil.
  6. Serve immediately to your dog.

Notes

You can substitute the bell pepper with carrots, spinach, broccoli, or peas. You can also vary the meat: try using turkey, lean beef, lamb, or cooked salmon. Hemp seeds provide omega 3, omega 6, and quality protein. A silicone snuffle mat slows down the meal and stimulates the sense of smell.

Storage

To be consumed immediately. Any leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 1 day.
