Wellness Shot for Dogs' Gut with Kefir and Pumpkin

Wellness shot for dogs with kefir, pumpkin, chia seeds, and ginger. A small daily dose to naturally support digestion and gut flora.

Time ~35 min
Portions 5

A balanced gut is the key to your dog’s overall well-being. This homemade shot combines kefir, pumpkin powder, chia seeds, and a pinch of ginger to provide probiotics, fibers, and anti-inflammatory ingredients that support digestion and a balanced gut flora. A small dose each day, and you’re done.

Ingredients

  • 120 ml of unsweetened natural kefir
  • 1 and a half tablespoons (about 12 g) of dried pumpkin powder with probiotics and ginger (or cooked pumpkin + a pinch of grated fresh ginger)
  • half a teaspoon of chia seeds
  • 60 ml of water

Instructions

  1. Pour all the ingredients into the blender.
  2. Blend until you achieve a smooth and homogeneous mixture.
  3. Divide into small jars or silicone molds. Let it rest for about 30 minutes so that the chia seeds swell slightly.
  4. Serve one portion per day as a helpful supplement for digestion.

Notes

A small amount of ginger helps to soothe the stomach, while chia seeds provide fiber and omega 3. If you prefer, you can substitute kefir with goat milk or natural coconut water for a dairy-free version. For puppies, start with very small doses.

Storage

In the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or frozen in silicone molds for longer storage.
