A canine version of the classic pot pie, creamy and fragrant. Carrots and broccoli are finely cooked for easy digestion, while the ground chicken provides lean protein. Almond milk makes the mixture velvety, and omega oil adds essential fatty acids for skin and coat health. A simple and nutritious one-dish meal.
Ingredients
- 290 g of carrots (including tops)
- 225 g of broccoli (stems included)
- 450 g of ground chicken
- 480 ml of water
- 160 g of fresh or frozen peas
- 60 ml of unsweetened almond milk
- 1 and a half teaspoons of essential nutrient mix for dogs (about 15 g)
- 2 and a quarter teaspoons of omega oil for dogs (about 22 g)
Procedure
- Wash the carrots and broccoli, then chop them finely by hand or with a blender.
- Put the ground chicken in a skillet with the water.
- Add the chopped vegetables and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the peas and almond milk and continue cooking for another minute, until the desired consistency is reached.
- Remove from heat, add the essential nutrient mix and omega oil, and stir until everything is well combined.
- Let it cool completely before serving.
Notes
Formulated for maintaining the adult dog; yield of about 1134 g. Weigh the ingredients in grams for better nutritional accuracy.
Storage
It keeps in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 90 days.
