Cheese Chips for Dogs with a Single Ingredient

Crispy cheese chips for dogs made with just one ingredient. Ready in minutes, perfect as a training reward or occasional snack.

Time ~25 min
Portions 30

Crunchy, golden, and made with just one ingredient: these cheese chips are the simplest homemade snack you can prepare for your dog. Just a few slices of cheddar and an oven are enough to create a treat with an intense flavor, perfect for training sessions or a tasty snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of sliced cheddar cheese (medium or aged), without added salt

Procedure

  1. Preheat the oven to 135 degrees.
  2. Cut each slice of cheese into four equal parts, or into smaller pieces as you prefer.
  3. Arrange the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them well apart.
  4. Bake for 20-30 minutes, until the cheese is completely bubbly and dehydrated. For extra crunchiness, extend the baking time by a few minutes while keeping an eye on it.
  5. Allow to cool completely on the sheet before serving to your dog.

Notes

Always choose pure cheese, without salt, garlic, or added flavors. If your dog has never tasted cheese, start with a small piece and observe their reaction. Since it's a rich snack, it's best to offer a few pieces a couple of times a week.

Storage

Allow to cool completely, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
