Origins
Selected in Vendée (Western France) to hunt hare in dense underbrush. Developed by local hunters starting in the 19th century. Recognized by the FCI in 1954.
Appearance
- Height: 34-38 cm at the withers.
- Weight: 14-18 kg.
- Coat: rough, bristly, of medium length. Colors: white with orange spots, fawn, black, brindle, tricolor.
