Origins

The Mudi is a native Hungarian breed, selected to manage flocks of sheep, cows, and even pigs. Officially recognized in 1936, it is now considered by the FCI as one of the oldest Hungarian breeds.

Appearance

Training

The Mudi is a natural champion. It learns commands in just a few repetitions. It needs to be directed toward activities: without mental work, it can develop compulsive behaviors.

Very healthy breed, with robust genetics thanks to few extreme selections. Among the rare predispositions: hip dysplasia, and in some lines epilepsy. Serious breeders conduct tests.
