Origins
English breed, developed in the 19th century by Reverend John Russell for fox hunting. The "Jack" is a diminutive of John.
Appearance
- Height: 25-30 cm
- Weight: 5-8 kg
- Coat: smooth, rough or broken (intermediate)
- Color: predominantly white with black or brown patches
- Life expectancy: 13-16 years
Character
- Unceasing energy: one of the most active dogs in the world
- Intelligent: learns quickly

Exercise Needs
- At least 1.5-2 hours a day of active exercise

Warnings
- Never in the garden without fencing: digs underneath, jumps over
- Never off-leash in the countryside: chases game and gets lost
- Serious training: without it, becomes unmanageable
