The classic puppuccino is simply a cup of whipped cream, but with this homemade version, it transforms into something more elaborate: a small smoothie of strawberries, plant-based milk, and Greek yogurt, topped with a cloud of whipped cream. A fun idea to prepare for your dog's birthday or for a special day, remembering that it is an occasional treat and not a daily one.
Ingredients
- 120 ml of unsweetened coconut or almond milk (or whole milk)
- 120 ml of plain Greek yogurt (also 2%)
- 120 g of cleaned and sliced strawberries
- 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) of honey (optional)
- 60 ml of fresh cream to whip
- Freeze-dried strawberries for decoration (optional)
Procedure
- Pour the milk, Greek yogurt, and strawberries into the blender.
- Add honey if you prefer a sweeter note and blend well until smooth.
- Transfer the drink into a small glass or bowl.
- In a bowl, whip the fresh cream with beaters until soft peaks form.
- Decorate the puppuccino with whipped cream and, if you like, finish with crumbled freeze-dried strawberries or a piece of fresh strawberry.
Notes
Frozen strawberries make the drink cooler and more like a slush: a perfect idea for hot days. If your dog doesn't like cold, choose fresh strawberries. You can change the fruit and try blueberries, raspberries, banana, mango, or pineapple. Always check your dog’s tolerance to dairy.
Storage
The puppuccino is best enjoyed immediately. Any leftovers from the blended part can be stored in the fridge in a closed container for up to 24 hours, mixing well before use.
