The light turkey, pumpkin, and cucumber meal is an original recipe, perfect for the warm season and for dogs that need to lose weight. Cucumber adds freshness and hydration, while cooked pumpkin provides sweetness and fiber without weighing down the meal.
Ingredients
- 200 g of turkey breast
- 200 g of cleaned pumpkin
- 120 g of cucumber
- 50 g of white rice
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 bunch of fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook the rice in unsalted water according to the package instructions.
- Boil the turkey in unsalted water for 12 minutes, then finely shred it.
- Cut the pumpkin into cubes and steam it for 12-15 minutes, until tender.
- Wash the cucumber, peel it, remove the large seeds, and cut it into very small cubes.
- In a bowl, combine the rice, turkey, and pumpkin, and let it cool.
- Finally, add the raw cucumber, EVO oil, and parsley, mix well, and serve at room temperature.
Notes
The cucumber is made up of over 95% water and contains very few calories. It is an excellent aid for dogs that drink little and need to lose weight. Turkey is a lean protein ideal for weight loss. Serve this meal during warm months: the freshness of the cucumber is particularly appreciated. Introduce cucumber gradually to check for tolerance.
Storage
In the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Freezing is not recommended due to the raw cucumber.
