Homemade Puppy Food with Beef and Sardines

A balanced homemade meal for puppies over 14 weeks. Beef, sardines, beef heart, cauliflower, and sweet potato for healthy growth and balanced digestion.

Time ~20 min
Portions 7

In the early stages of growth, puppies need specific nutrients: more healthy fats, the right ratio of calcium to phosphorus, and high-quality proteins. This recipe combines lean beef, omega-3 rich sardines, and beef heart to provide energy and muscle development, complemented by sweet potato and cauliflower for fiber.

Ingredients

  • 544 g of 15% fat lean ground beef
  • 200 g of sardines in water (1 can and 1/4)
  • 90 g of freeze-dried beef heart (or 240 g fresh)
  • 80 g of chopped cauliflower
  • 75 g of diced sweet potato
  • 11 g of hemp oil
  • 480 ml of water
  • 60 g of essential nutritional mix for puppies

Instructions

  1. Drain the sardines, chop the cauliflower into small pieces, and dice the sweet potato.
  2. In a large pot, combine water and ground beef and cook for about 5 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  3. Add the cauliflower and sweet potato and continue cooking until the vegetables are soft and the meat is well cooked.
  4. Turn off the heat and stir in the sardines and cut-up beef heart. If using fresh heart, add it along with the beef at the beginning.
  5. Finally, add the nutritional mix and hemp oil, mixing well.
  6. Let cool before serving.
