Tired of always offering the same peanut butter on the licking mat? This creamy salmon mousse combines flavor, freshness, and nutrients beneficial for your dog's coat. Canned salmon, creamy cheese, and a crunchy touch of cucumber transform in just a few minutes into a protein and omega 3 snack.
Ingredients
- 1 can of natural salmon, unsalted (about 120 g)
- 3 tablespoons of spreadable cream cheese (45 g, natural or lactose-free)
- 1 tablespoon of small diced cucumber (15 g)
Instructions
- Drain and rinse the salmon, then pour it into a bowl.
- Add the cream cheese and the diced cucumber.
- Mash with a fork and mix until smooth, but with some crunchy pieces of cucumber.
- Spread on your dog's licking mat or use as a topping on their meal.
Notes
Salmon is an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids, beneficial for skin and coat. Serve this mousse as an occasional snack, 1-2 times a week. You can substitute salmon with natural sardines or mackerel, also without added salt or flavors. The cucumber adds hydration and a pleasant crunch.
Storage
In an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or frozen in silicone molds for longer-term storage.
