Chicken and Zucchini Cream for Neutered Cats

A light cream of lean chicken and zucchini — low in calories yet satisfying: crafted for neutered cats who need to keep their weight in check without missing out on protein.

Time ~30 min
Portions 3

After being neutered, cats use less energy and put on weight more easily. The key is to offer lean protein and plenty of satiety with few calories. This creamy dish combines chicken breast, an extremely lean meat, with a little courgette — a light, water-rich vegetable that adds volume to the meal without making it heavy. The result is soft, hydrating and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 150 g chicken breast
  • 30 g courgette
  • 350 ml water

Method

  1. Cut the chicken into small pieces and the courgette into rounds.
  2. Cook both in water over a gentle heat for 18–20 minutes, with no salt or seasoning.
  3. Drain, reserving the broth, and leave to cool slightly.
  4. Blend the chicken and courgette, adding the broth a little at a time, until you have a smooth cream that is not too runny.
  5. Serve lukewarm.

Notes

The portion should be based on your cat's ideal weight, not their current weight: ask your vet for the correct serving size for weight management. Courgette is a light addition, but the base of this recipe is meat. No salt or flavourings. This is a light supplementary meal, not a complete diet for exclusive long-term use.

Storage

Keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Can be frozen in single portions for up to 2 months. Warm in a bain-marie and stir before serving.
